We have chosen to ‘put on Christ’. We are, in other words, ‘clothed with Christ.’ I describe baptism to my children by telling them that it is like putting off old dirty garments, filthy with sin and replacing them by accepting the gift of spotless white robes, a gift of Christ’s own purity. When God looks at us after our baptism, he sees a spotless soul, covered by the redeeming blood of Christ. This is His precious gift to fallible human beings.

I am safe as long as I stay within the boundaries He has set forth- - obedient and faithful to His Word.

Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Rev. 2:10b)

Not only this, but I have the hope of glory because of His great sacrifice; an eternal existence with Christ and God the Father in heaven when He returns to take His children home with Him.
