Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside,
redeeming the time. (Colossians 4:5)
As we travel along the paths of this world, we
encounter many lost and hurting souls. It is our responsibility to impact
these lives with grace and goodness so that we can rescue them from the
bonds of slavery. When God gives us a job to do, He always gives us the
instruction manual to complete the task correctly. In Colossians
4 :5-6 He has given us the method
we should follow in buying back (redeeming) those who are outside.
We must first walk. To walk is to show action and
direction. We cannot stand still and expect to win souls for Christ. We
must make a purposeful effort to place ourselves in their path. Notice we
are to walk with wisdom. The book of Proverbs is full of encouragement
towards the wise. Satan loves to fill our minds with doubt and fear. If we
doubt our knowledge of God’s Word or the ability to share, the devil has
won another soul. We can all have wisdom to share with others.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who
gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
(James1:5)
