WHY
HAVE SOME LOST THEIR JOY?
By Cj Clayton
Restore
unto me the joy of my salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be
converted unto thee. (Psa 51: 12-13)
Sometimes I
wonder why people even bother to show up for worship! You
can tell by looking at them that they don't really have any joy in
their hearts for the Lord,
Let me give you
an example of what I mean. I clean the church building two
nights a week. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I find on the
floor and on the seats. For instance, people leave their
Bibles at the church building! I find crumpled love
notes written by the teenagers (least I hope it's from teenagers).
I remove candy wrappers, gum wrappers, nail clippings, you
name it, from the pews!
I think to
myself, "All this is going on during Worship Service!"
What a shame, to
treat God this way! The joy of salvation is lost and God's word is left
at the church building! Some won't need it until next Sunday or
Wednesday s night Bible Class!
Deliver me from
bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my Salvation: and my tongue
shall sing aloud of thy righteousness! (Psa 51:14)
We also sing
accapella during worship service, (NO Instumental music). I
sing LOUD and I enjoy singing! I know God hears me even though
my singing would probably make a freight train take a dirt road!
I know I am singing with what God has given me and he gets joy
for hearing me!
But many just
sit there, or they lip sync. They aren't singing at all,
especially the Teenagers! Some of them are actually
asleep! (I'm not kidding)
So why
oh why Lord, have they lost their Joy???
We can't let our
Worship of God become like some kind of routine that we are
bored with, like going to the laundry mat. If we are going to
do that, then we might as well stay home!
Create in me a
clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. (Psa 51:10)
Cast me
not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
(Psa 51:11)
I love the Lord,
and I pray that my Worhip of him will NEVER be like going to the
laundry mat!
Lord Keep me
steadfast and unmovable that I may receive a crown of life that
fadeth not away.
