WHOLE HEARTED SERVICE
Lesson 2 – CARING HEART
In this lesson we want to establish the caring heart. The church is the family of God. Like the biological family it is a permanent association, time and distance do not affect its union or the love which exists between its members. Family ties are not dissolved when children leave home and neither are ties to the church. We are in the church, the family of God, no matter where we go. We cannot be in the church on Sunday and out on Monday. The church of Christ is made up of followers of Christ – those who believe in Him as God’s Son and trust in Him as their Savior and submit in obedience to Him.
God gave us the church for many reasons; one is that we might enjoy companionship. We should be able to share our burdens, strengthen one another, praise God and magnify Christ. We should have and want fellowship with one another. Let’s look into the Scriptures to show these things are so:
COMPANIONSHIP

“Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and ______________ in _________, and ______________, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.”

Acts 10:46
“For they heard them speak with tongues, and _______ God…”
FELLOWSHIP
I John 1:6-7
“If we say that we have ___________ with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have ____________ ______ _______ ___________, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
We can see by applying all these things in our lives we can indeed nurture and grow a caring heart. One cannot cultivate all these without learning how to care for one another and for God and His Son. By putting all these things in our hearts as well as our minds and keeping them there we will have learned to have a caring heart.
God also cares for us and because of this we should have a happy and content feeling in our lives.
THOUGHT QUESTION:
