Whole Hearted Service
Part 3

The Caring Heart

The church is what?  It is the family of God.  We have a family that reaches far and wide!  We never have to feel that we know no one in a place if we will but find a congregation of the Lord's people and associate ourselves with them.  We can count on the fact that time and distance will never sever the union or the love which is between the members of the family of God.  We are one of a family no matter where we go, no matter what we do.  We cannot be part of the family of God on Sunday and  not part of it through the rest of the week.

The church of Christ is made up of the followers of Christ. The members of His church are those who have taken up the cross and followed Him. They are the ones who will always be a part of that family.  God does not break the ties to us even though sometimes we may think we have lost contact with Him. (If we turn our backs on God and become disobedient we can sever our ties with God and our Christian family.)

God gave us the church for many reasons.  One reason is so that we might enjoy companionship.  We should be able to share our burdens, strengthen one another, praise God and magnify Christ.  We should have fellowship and love through the church.

Women's work in the church begins when she is born into God's family and it doesn't end until she leaves this earth to join God's family in heaven.  This love for God causes her to be sensitive to the service she can do and because of her love for Him she does not wait to be asked to do what she can but instead she does it out of love and caring.

Christian women should be stewards of God.  They can be Christian teachers. When you think about it, every Christian woman teaches every day. We may not be aware of this but we should be because by our examples we are teachers to those who we may not even realize are watching us.

As Christian women we should be willing to serve in any capacity, and not grumble because we think we are asked to do too much, or we don't have enough time to do or that it is something we don't have the ability to do.  Why should we not grumble and come up with excuses? It is because if we do that then we are showing by our example that we do not believe what we read in the Bible:

"I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13)

If we do not work for the Lord and grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, can we truly say we are "pure in heart"?
