The
earliest identifying mark of a Christian was the way he treated his
fellow men. "See how they love one another,"
was said of the early church. They were a peculiar
people because of this quality of love. This kind of active
working faith should characterize the church today. The Christian
woman, especially, has a great potential for leading others to Christ
through her own life and example. Woman holds within her nature a potential
power to influence, to mark lives.
Are
you aware of the influence you may have on those around you? Are you
prayerfully seeking to use that influence for service to God? Man may
build the house but woman makes it a home. God made everything else
before He made woman. He knew Adam was lonely so He
made him a helpmeet. Women's influence and responsibilities are
great, shouldn't we then make sure that our hearts and minds are
pure.
When
we have sensitivity and humility in our hearts not only do we think of
others first but we will act from this heart. The pure heart is gentle,
tender, patient and has leniency and mercy in it. A pure heart
shows kindness to all. Pure love will want to help others, and because
we do help others we will find joy from doing so. A pure heart does
not allow us to be spiritless or indifferent in our walk with God.
A
Christian woman will not and must not be uninvolved in her walk with
the Lord her God. Our pure heart will cause us to want to encourage
and uplift and help those around us. We will want to try to lift those
who are downtrodden whether it be physically, mentally, emotionally or
spiritually. We will want to share the joy in our hearts with all
those we come in contact with.
For
the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching
us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly,
righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Looking
for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our
Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that he might redeem us from
all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good
works. (Titus 2:11-14)
