WORSHIP
LESSON 1
Introduction
In the last set of Lessons “Back To The Basics, The Bible” we
learned that the Bible is our standard of authority in knowing
and living for God. The Bible is the Christian’s map, in it we
learn how to be saved, how to live after we become children of
God, and we learn how to worship God the way He commands.
As we study the Old Testament we find that God gave Noah
specific instructions on how to build and what to take into the
ark, and Noah was pleasing to God because he followed God’s
directions. (Genesis 6:13-22) God gave Noah the pattern and he
followed it just as God commanded!
Thus Noah did; according to all that
God commanded him, so he did. (Genesis 6:22)
God has always given His people instructions on how they can
be pleasing to Him. He has never left people who love Him to
guess on how or what they need to do to be right before Him.
Read the later part of Exodus beginning with chapter 20.
You will find that:
God gave His chosen children (the Jews/Israelites)
the 10 commandments (Ex. 20:1-17).
He told them how to build the alter to sacrifice
burnt offerings on (Ex. 20:22-26).
He gave laws concerning servants, violence, and
animals in Exodus 21.
In Exodus 22 you will find responsibility for
property, moral principals…
Continue right on through and He tells them how to
build the tabernacle, the ark, what garments o be worn by the
priests and so on.
God gives us His pattern in all things, if we want to be
pleasing to Him we must following His instructions.
