LORD, who may abide in
Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? ( Psalms
15:1)
The question is
posed:
"Who may
live in Your holy hill?" This question is really asking: "Who
may be in your presence?"
The answer is
given:
"An honest
righteous person".
God hates backbiting
and mistreatment of others.
God expects us to
stand against evil. A person of His word is pleasing to God. If we say we
are going to do something, we had better do it.
We should use our
money, lending without interest and not accepting a bribe.
As I read this Psalm,
I thought of Jesus words about the greatest commandment. We will be pleasing
to God if we love Him with all our heart and if we love our neighbor as
ourselves.
If we love God, we
strive to be honest and righteous.
If we love others, we
will not mistreat anyone. We will defend the truth in hopes of
winning others for Christ.
This is the ultimate
gift of love.
