Thought questions:

A. Elihu seems very proud to me, much like the Pharisees. He thinks he knows more about God than everyone else. Find some NT scriptures that discuss pride.

I Cor 4:5-7, Rom 12:3-8 tells us that we should remember to not think more highly of ourselves than we ought and that every part of the body has an important function whether it is glamourous or not.

B. Give your thoughts on this week’s lesson. Elihu’s pride really got my attention. It is very easy to be proud of our “righteous acts”. We are to do good works because of God's grace on us, it pleases Him, and He commands us to do good works. Gal 6:3-5 tells us that we should not compare ourselves to others but carry our own load. No one deserves heaven, it is a gift given to those who love God, believe in Him, and who are obedient to him.
