Thought Questions:

A.  Why did God often use miracles? To show His power. Everything in creation is about Him, not us. He used miracles to prove a new covenant, to prove he was the God of all, to punish those who did not believe. Ex 3:20 In Ex 6 God tells how He will bring great judgments on the Egyptians so that they will know Him. Several places in the book of Is God promises punishments on those nations who have hurt the Israelites in some way or fashion. In the New Testament we are told to do all for His glory. He used miracles to show His power and Glory.
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." I Cor 10:31

B.  In Exodus 7:6 we are told that Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded. Why is obedience important? We cannot be pleasing to God if we do not obey Him. Heb 3:17-19 The children of Israel that were disobedient could not enter into the promised land. Heb 5:8-9 teaches us eternal salvation depends upon our obedience. I Pet 4:16-18: "Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now
“ If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

We absolutely must be obedient to expect eternal life.  There are those that argue it is by grace not works.  There is nothing we can do to earn our eternity, but we must be obedient.  Obedience and works are not the same thing.
