Thought Questions:

A. What can we learn from Jacob’s patience and His ability to trust God to work things out for his good?

B. From the beginning God said one man and one woman. Abraham and Isaac appear to have had only one wife. Acts, chapter 17, talks about God overlooking the ignorance of men concerning other gods. It seems that He also allowed them to have many wives. Not only did Jacob have more than one wife, so did David, Solomon, etc. Look at these men and others and list some of the problems that arise out of this arrangement, why God’s original plan is the best plan and what He expects of us.
