1. How long did it take the Israelites to get to the wilderness of sin after they left Egypt?
Ans.: Two months and 15 days.
2. Was the congregation glad to be there?
Ans.: No.
3. Were the complainers just a few? Explain your answer.
Ans.: No. The whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured. (Ex 16:2).
4. What was their complaint?
Ans.: In Egypt they had pots of flesh and were able to eat ‘till they were full.
5. What did the Lord tell Moses He would do to prove (test) their willingness to obey Him? Ans.: He would rain bread from Heaven upon them to gather at a certain rate every day.6. What proof would the Lord give in the evening and in the morning that it was He who brought them out of the land of Egypt?
Ans.: The Lord would provide flesh for them to eat in the evening and bread in the morning so they could eat to the full (vs. 8).
7. Who was it that spoke to the congregation?
Ans.: Aaron.
8. What did they call the “small round thing” that was on the ground.
Ans.: Manna.
9. How much of this were they to gather each day?
Ans.: An omer a day for 5 days and twice as much on the sixth day.
10. What happened when some left the five day gatherings ‘till the next day?
Ans.: It bred worms, stank and melted in the sun.
11. What happened to the extra omer that was gathered on the 6th day?
Ans.: It did not stink nor have worms.
12. What happened when some Israelites went out on the 7th day to gather it?
Ans.: The Lord said, “How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?”
13. What memorial did God require to cause Israel to remember how He cared for them in the wilderness?
Ans.: Put an omer full of manna in a pot and lay it up before the Lord.
14. For how long did Israel eat manna, and when did it stop appearing?
Ans.: They ate manna 40 years, and it stopped when they came to the borders of Canaan.
