QUESTIONS FROM GENESIS NINE

1.    What was to be the food for mankind according to Genesis 1:29?

    "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." 


2.    What change in diet did God provide for them after the flood? (Gen.9:3) 

     "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things."

3.    What did God say was the life of the flesh? (9:4)

    Blood

4.    What restriction did God make regarding the "life of the flesh"?

    "But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat."

5.    Under the New Covenant, when Gentiles were converted to Christianity, the Jewish converts tried to force the Gentile proselytes to keep certain tenets of the Law Of Moses. At the Jerusalem Council of Acts 15, what advice did James, the brother of the Lord, indicate should be written in the letter to the Gentiles regarding things from which the Gentiles should abstain? 6.    What was the law of God to Noah concerning capital punishment? (9:5, 6)

    "And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man."

7.    What was the covenant that God made with Noah and his sons? (9:9-11)

    "And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; 10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. 11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth."

8.     What was the token or "sign" of the covenant that God made with Noah and his sons? (9:12-17)

    "And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13  I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14  And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: 15  And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16  And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
17  And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth."

        a. Regarding His priests (Lev. 10:9)? "Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: ..."

I will seek it yet again."

        g. From what will those who are involved in drunkenness be refused entrance? (Gal. 5:21) Shall not inherit the kingdom of God

13.    In Noah's drunken state, it is evident from the passage in 9:20-24, that his grandson Canaan dishonored him after having heard his father, Ham, speak of the condition of Noah. Who were the sons that did their best to cover their father's shame?
