Answers to Questions From Genesis 11:27- 12:4
We have seen the generations from Adam corrupt themselves to the point that every imagination of the thoughts of man's heart was only evil continually (6:5). Noah found grace in the sight of the Lord and he and his family were saved by the waters of the flood. Now we see the attempt of the descendants of Noah to oppose the will of God in desiring to make a name for themselves at Babel, and the resulting confounding of their speech by the Lord which scattered them abroad upon the face of all the earth. The three sons of Terah now come forth from Ur in the land of the Chaldees [present day Iraq] (11:26), and play an important part in the development of the people of God.
