The Two Go Together

 One cannot separate the love of God and the love for His word.

 The Word was with God and the Word was God." (John 1:1)

 "If you love me keep my commandments." (John 14:15)

God couldn't make it any plainer than this. One cannot love Him without loving His word and His will for us. His word is our source of instructions, revealing our way of salvation. His word brings us..

      ….Cheer

                ….Comfort

                            ….Assurances

                                           ….Hope

                                                     ….Strength

Your word is very pure; Therefore Your servant loves it. (Psalm 119:140)

Without His word, we'd be helplessly living in a world of sin. But through His word, we are told that even when we're tempted, God will provide a means of escape and will deliver us from these temptations.

Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me. (Psalm 119:133)

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Cor.10:13)

Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment (2 Pet. 2:9) 

Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.  (Psalm 119:11)

I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your ord.  (Psalm 119:101)
