Teaching Others Not To Walk In The Counsel Of The Wicked

By Jackie Harrison

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers." This verse leads you to the connecting verse of: (Psalm 32:1) "Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered " (Psalm 1:1)

We all know the Psalms is a book of songs written by different people to praise God. What is not thought of most of the time is how many people don’t have the slightest idea of what it means to "walk not in the counsel of the wicked" or "whose transgressions are forgiven". This makes me think about how many people out there are really ignorant of what salvation really is.

Also, it makes me wonder, "What am "I" doing to make people understand what God has in store for those who follow Christ?" I might have salvation, but how secure is it when one considers, "What am I doing if not spreading the word as God states in Mark 16:15?" (Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation).

How many people have I lead to the water? "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mark 16:16a).

How many have I let remain ignorant? "But whoever does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:16b)

Am I the reason the people I come in contact with are condemned? What have I done to bring them to Christ? It is one thing to spread the word and to be ignored, but quite another to have not tried at all. We should let Christ shine in our daily lives no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in.

Do everything as if God is right there watching.

You know why?

Because He is.
