He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High God shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)
I pray, "Father God, you said in Your Word that he that dwells in the secret place of the Most High God shall....."
and I pause and calmly think of that -
..... The question comes to mind,
"Lord am I dwelling"?
"What does that mean, Lord"?
"Teach me to dwell, Lord!"
I find that I can't go past the first verse in this chapter because just maybe,.....
......maybe,
.......I am not dwelling!
I may not be guilty of presumptuous sins but, maybe, just maybe, I talked about somebody today or even someone hurt me badly and I don't have good thoughts regarding the whole situation.
I say, "Teach me" instead of "Teach us" because it is I who needs to understand dwelling according to God's wisdom and knowledge, and not my own understanding.
Immediately, I think about :
I see the answers at once.... and I read the entire 15th chapter. I find the stipulations for dwelling and they are:
He who walks uprightly.........
.....who works righteousness and speaks the truth in his heart
.........does not backbite with his tongue
........ who eyes see a vile person condemned
.....does not put his money out for usury
He answers again in Psalm 24:3-4 as the question arises again: "Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Who shall stand in His holy place?
*Who has not lifted up his soul into vanity
How in the world are we going to dwell in the secret place when our hearts are not right?
How am going to talk about you like a dog and spread all the bad things I know about you and think I am going to ascend to the holy hill?
"Not so, not so!" says God.
We have to walk away from having a form of godliness, while at the same time we are denying the power of God. We must walk towards God by allowing ourselves to be cleansed. We must repent of all evil! We must be baptized in water for the remission sins! (Acts 22:16) If we have already been baptized then, we must repent and then ask God for forgiveness. (Acts 8:18-24)
There is a crystal river flowing from the river of God, the trees stand firmly by the banks being rooted and grounded to bring forth it's fruit in it's season and it's leaves does not wither for they are the healing for the nations (Revelation 22).
I need to be in His Presence.
Let us get to the secret place by repenting daily,.....
... ..by asking God every day to cleanse our hands and purify our hearts
.......that we may dwell and reap the full blessing,
......the fullness of the Living Water
.........flowing from His throne.
He wants you there and He is waiting for you.
Drink
Drink
Drink
Of His Presence and never be the same again because you are constantly dwelling in the secret place. Selah!
