WELCOME
By Vickie Oliver
“And so it shall be: Instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench; Instead of a sash, a rope; Instead of well-set hair, baldness; Instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.” (Isaiah 3:24) (NKJV)
Who do you worship?
God? Or Satan?
The women in Isaiah were serving self and worshiping idols. For them it was more important to look good and have a good time.
Do you ever put self before God?
Wouldn’t it be more fun to go the lake for the weekend knowing there is no place to go to worship! When we put self, first sooner or later it will catch up with us. I hope that it will be sooner and not later. Later might be too late. If you are standing before your FATHER in judgment – it will be too late.
Unfortunately, we let our pride come between us and God, which is the same as the women of Isaiah 3:24. Their pride was more important than God was. We are told how God wants us to be adorned. “Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” (1 Peter 3:3-4)
We must humble ourselves before God. “When I come again, my God will humble me among you, and I shall mourn for many who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness, fornication, and lewdness which they have practiced. (2 Corinthians 12:21)
Don’t take the chance God will look past you and go to someone else. “Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.” (Acts 13:46)
Slow down - take a step back – take a deep breath and remember God is on your side. Put HIM back at the top of your priority list and let HIM help you. You will feel better about yourself and your life. You will begin to notice the sweet smelling savor is coming back. “But thanks be unto God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and makes manifest through us the savor of his knowledge in every place. For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saved, and in them that perish. (2 Corinthians 2:14, 15)
Stay on the RIGHT path!
