Shout It Out!

By Beverly Rainwater

Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name : make His praise glorious. (Psalms 66:1-2)

We are to shout with joy to God for all He has made.  Worshipping Him, rejoicing in Him, glorifying Him should all be with gladness, with no shame and not hidden.  God is great! His mighty works, His love and compassion, His generousness to us should make us shine in our daily walk with Him.

We are a delivered people, just as the children of Israel were delivered from the Red Sea. We are delivered from sin through the blood of Jesus Christ if we but obey.  Showing our joy for such a great and unwarranted gift as Jesus should be our goal each day.  We should shout out His name by our demeanor!  Sad faces make people leery of even approaching us.  Long, grouchy faces do nothing to lead others to Him. Instead it causes them to walk away from us without even speaking.  How can we lead others to Him if we, by our demeanor, drive them away?

Smiles, joyfulness, and happiness in our life causes people to stop and take notice.  Some even grow curious to know more about the great Lord God whom we serve.  They want to know the source of joyful shine on our faces in the midst of a harried world.

No matter what the circumstance, if we are rejoicing in the Lord, we can find happiness, even in the strangest of places, the weirdest of happenings and the smallest of the small!

What are you displaying to the world?  Will those you come in contact with see Christ living in you through your joy and happiness or will they see only a sad, long-faced,  grouchy person who acts like they have nothing to be joyful about!  Make those you meet each day want to stay around you long enough to find out what makes you tick.  Make them wonder why you smile in the rain, laugh at the hole in your hose, and even chuckle at the passerby who is in such a hurry that they knock into you without even saying, “Excuse me”.

Show them the joy of knowing Jesus Christ.
