SBW-III Syllabus & Introduction
Introduction & Syllabus
CHRONOLOGICAL SURVEY OF BIBLE WOMEN
COURSE REQUIREMENTS/SYLLABUS:
As you proceed through this course, you will be given directions that are easy to follow. At each step you will be told exactly what to do next ”what materials to study, what written work or activities to submit. Keep in mind that answers to the questions are based on the King James Version of the Bible. The NKJV is also a good translation to use, but may not help in answering questions with specific wording.
REQUIREMENTS:
This course is generally arranged by lessons centered on one lady at a time. Some are grouped to show relationships to other people or time periods.
TIME NEEDED:
Feel free to write me for help. My email address is dhjohnson19@earthlink.net
MATERIALS:
For those of you who like to have a hard copy of materials in your hand, I suggest that you keep your lessons in the following way:
Hard cover 3-ring binder with at least a 1" spine for keeping copies of lessons and answer sheets.
v Or perhaps a soft-cover folder with brads for easy insertion/removal of papers.
In every lesson there will be easy directions. There will be two types of questions for this course--short answer questions and long answer questions which must be proved from scripture.
A Systematic Study of Bible Women is a chronological survey of women of the Bible. That just means the women studied will pretty much start in Genesis and go through Revelation; however, keep in mind that some books in the Bible repeat the historical record. Because this is an introductory class designed to give you a good overview of major women in Hebrew history, we will do our best to cover most of them in their historical context.
Please print a copy of the chart PERIODS OF OLD TESTAMENT HISTORY for a better understanding of where these ladies fit into Hebrew history. The reading schedule is not demanding at all, and once you have become accustomed to the formula for reading, know how to find the answers, and what questions to ask, you will find that your reading speed picks up quite a bit.
Because I am half way around the world sleeping when you are awake and awake when you are sleeping, and because few women have the same schedules even if they live in the same city, we will not use the IM option for live discussions. All our discussions will be email messages only.
