The Love Of God

BJ Duty

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:16-17).

God loves us so much that He gave His only Son (who was with Him in the beginning).

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-5 and 14)

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.  And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:13-18)

Jesus paid the price for us to have eternal life, all we have to do is follow his Word [John 5:24; John 8:51 (second death)]. God sent His Son into the world to pay the price for our sins, which he did by sacrificing himself on the cross, He was the perfect sacrifice (Eph. 5:2; 1 Pet. 1:18-20).

God sent His Son to earth so that man could be saved but they must believe and love Him enough to keep the commands of His only Son.
