But, "I trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the Lord, because He hath dealt bountifully with me." (Psalms 13:5-6)
Jesus declares, “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Fathers commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My Joy may remain in you, and that your Joy may be full”. (John 15:9-11)
God loves us unconditionally. God gave His son as proof of His love. It wasn't anything that we deserved, nor did we do anything to merit receiving it.
The scriptures tell us that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us. (ROM. 5:8) He made it possible for all men to be saved, but, our salvation is conditional.
We must love God and obey His laws. It is one that is to be written on our hearts, not one written on tablets of stone, as was the Old law. (2 COR. 3:3) The New law is also one of both grace and love.
Once we've obeyed God and continue therein, salvation is promised to us. His joy should abide in us as we have much for which we should be joyous.
Our ultimate reward will be to spend our eternity in Heaven!
“....be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” (REV. 2:10)
"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth, Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father;...” (Rev.1:5-6)
