SERMON ON THE MOUNT - III

Doug Young-Instructor

Class Overview

Over the course of this term, you will continue to consider the teachings of Jesus that we call The Sermon on the Mount. The focus of the third term will be the text of Matthew 6:1-7:29. Herein we shall home in on the subject of personal integrity as it relates to the Christian life in God’s kingdom. The term will cover integrity as it relates to personal devotions (6:1-18), personal pursuits (6:19-34), the use of judgment (7:1-6), the implementation of the Golden Rule (7:7-12), in the way of life (7:13-14), in the production of spiritual fruit (7:15-20), through obedience (7:21-23) and as it is built by the foundation of life (7:24-27).

Part of the purpose of this study is to make it personal, through practical application, not merely an academic exercise. You will be asked to think, as well as convey how you can better incorporate Christ’s teachings into your personal life. The lessons are,
