Please read Matthew 7:7-12 and then answer the following question in its several parts. This is going to be a demanding one, so please use your mind and think this through.

1. Having read Matthew 7:7-12 as a unit, based upon context, state how verses 7-8 relate to verses 9-12. Please supply references from the Sermon on the Mount that establish your case, explaining how each reference establishes your case.
