PNTC-4 THE SALVATION PATTERN EXAMINED PNTC SYLLABUS
We have seen from the Pattern for Church Membership (Lesson 3) that church membership and salvation go together. When one does what the Bible teaches us to do to be saved, the Lord adds those people to His church (Acts 2:47). You correctly answered question #8 of the previous lesson which had that these newly saved people were: “Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. (Acts 2:47)
We also noticed that the PATTERN FOR SALVATION involves HEARING the word of God, BELIEVING that word, REPENTING OF SIN, CONFESSING JESUS AS THE SON OF GOD, and being BAPTIZED FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS.
1. In the following chart, there are six examples of people being saved recorded in the book of Acts. The 3,000 on Pentecost, the Ethiopian Eunuch, Saul of Tarsus, Cornelius, the Philippian Jailer and Lydia. In the columns to the right of each example, write the verses which indicate the required action occurred beneath the 4 listed elements of the pattern. In several of the instances of conversion, there is no record that the action took place. This does not necessarily mean that it did not take place. But if a requirement is made for one, can one be sure that it is not required of those who today seek salvation. Below the chart which you are able to fill in is another chart that you can print out, then fill in with ink and have for future reference.
