LIFE AFTER DEATH JUDGMENT – PART 2 – HEAVEN (Week 7)

Just a little after 12:00 today, we received word that a brother-in-Christ, Dave Jacoby, of  Washington, North Carolina had passed away during the night after having a reaction to some over-the-counter medication. He was 56 years old, which is not very much older than my wife and my self. We were saddened by this and felt deep remorse for his wife, and yet, we must rejoice with him, too! How can we say such a thing? He was a faithful New Testament Christian, who was actively striving to serve his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, every day. You will remember in an earlier study, that we noted the assurance that the Apostle Paul had regarding death and the life to come. On another occasion, Paul is reminded of the fact that he wanted to continue in this life for the benefit of his brethren, and yet, there was that ever longing desire to go and be with the Lord. He was in a predicament of sorts, because he really wanted to go home, but he knew he was still needed here. (Philippians 1:18-26)

There is a song, that Christians sometimes sing, which says, “Heaven is a wonderful place, filled with glory and grace. I want to go there.” Of all the beautiful pictures that our imagination can grasp, the concept of a place called Heaven, is by far the most exciting. The thought of a place where there is no death, no decay, no aging, no pain, no suffering, no tears, no night, and nothing that will offend. As breathtaking a reality as are some of the magnificent paintings that our creator brushes across the canvass of the sky each new day, there is nothing that can compare with the beauty of a place called Heaven. It is a realm where there will be enough room for all the redeemed of all ages.

Think about the possibility of sitting and talking with Noah, Abraham, Moses, Paul, and being in the presence of God Almighty for all of eternity. Dream about the events of the day that never ends when we will be assembled around the throne of God. Can’t you just hear the myriads of voices that will be blended into perfect harmony in praise to the Lamb of God and the Father who made it all possible?

Often Kathy and I speak of the fact, that yes I’ll appreciate the mansion that has been prepared for me, but more importantly, we will just be happy to be there. Just let us have a little corner and we will be perfectly happy. There isn’t anything or anyone in this life that should keep us from going to Heaven! We must not allow Satan or sin or temptation to cause us to miss what God has prepared for those who love Him. We must also be willing to do whatever it takes to help one another to be there. The Judgment is certain. The Judgment is coming. Let us prepare today to be a part of God’s tomorrow in Heaven.

Keep studying. You are loved and appreciated!
