"Life After Death".
LIFE AFTER DEATH – Introduction & Syllabus
Man is a dual being that is composed of both flesh and blood and spirit. He is also unique above all other creatures, because he is made in the image of the almighty. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7, 15-17, 20-25; 3) Death is the final frontier that each of us must cross as we enter into eternity. After the end of this physical existence each of us will continue in the hadean world (the world of the unseen or the realm of the dead), while we await the one appointment that none of us will be late for. The Judgment Day is coming, are we preparing? (Hebrews 9:27)
Eternity will be a new adventure for everyone. Some will be separated from the redeemed forever in a place of unending torment with a memory of our past life. Others will ultimately live in a wonderful place called Heaven. It is a place that has been prepared from eternity for the faithful. (John 14:1-6) Jesus speaks of the realm of the unseen as having a place of torment and a place of paradise. This is the waiting place in eternity for all who die. The parable of Jesus concerning the rich man and Lazarus gives us a glimpse of real things to come in a real place. (Luke 16:19-31)
The Bible, God’s holy word, makes man aware of sin and its consequences and what it took to bring about the redemption of mankind. We learn, too, about that day which is coming when everyone will be present for the judgment. (Matthew 25:31-46) Today, while we live in this physical world, we have the opportunity to avail ourselves of the cleansing power found in the precious blood of the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ. It is our hope and desire, that as we venture into these studies of life after death, that we will make those necessary changes so we can be with our Creator in the life to come.
From a study of I Corinthians chapter 15 and other related texts from the Bible, we want to give you a reason for dying and a certainty for living. We want to explore the many words of comfort offered to those who will allow God to be their Father-in-Heaven. We will Lord willing investigate these topics in our study: What Body Will We Have?; The Hadean World 1) Paradise 2) Tartarus; Judgment 1) Preparation 2) Heaven 3) Hell.
Please study with us and learn how we can live today and face death tomorrow knowing that we will live again. God bless you in your willingness to seek His will in your life.
