Because they rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the Most High, Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; they fell down, and there was none to help.
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces.
Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He has broken the gates of bronze, and cut the bars of iron in two. (Psalm 107:11-16)
How many times have you gotten so tied up in your own world that you forget to let God in? How often have you said with your mouth, “I am turning this problem over to the Lord; but you actions show something different?”
It is very hard for anyone, myself especially, to let go and let God. It’s not that we don’t have confidence in God’s ability it’s just we can fix it faster or I can just help Him out because He is busy. Maybe there is a quick fix to most problems but is it fixed the way it should be?? Have you noticed that when you don’t let it go sooner or later the problem comes back with a vengeance? It never fails – when things come back to haunt me the first thing that comes to mind is:
And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie. (2 Thessalonians 2:11)What is the lie? The lie in this situation is that I can solve my own problems. You see maybe the thing you are trying to fix is a lesson for someone else and it really has nothing to do with you. God brings things into our lives all the time because He uses us to show His goodness to the world. Most only see the finish product and wonder what it is that is so different about us.
So, the next time you find yourself with even the smallest problem, always remember to let go and let God, because He is able to fix it.
