I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.
I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.
The poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him and delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.
The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. (Psalm 34:1-10)
The morning dawned a new day, a new day and a new attitude in my heart! I had finally learned to trust my LORD.
Perhaps we all go through the same stages of learning to trust God. Life hands us lemons and we don’t want lemonade! We are confident that even if we did, there would be no sugar with which to sweeten it. We fight bitterness. We think, “Surely, no one has ever suffered as have I.”
We struggle greatly and we mature some. We gain a small amount of trust in the LORD. In anguish we cry out, “LORD, I believe! Help my unbelief!” (Mk. 9:24)
Our family suffered through an unspeakably difficult time together, at the hands of false brethren. It was during this time I finally begin to learn to put my complete trust in the LORD. Those days of suffering passed. We found ourselves on the other side of all those troubles looking back.
Looking back we all saw so much to be thankful for. I think our whole family would agree that in spite of all the difficulties, mostly what we have retained from that period of our lives are happy memories! Happy memories and cherished loved ones we grew to love during this time, who we will love and have in our hearts forever.
We have come through other hard times since then. I am amazed at the strength I have gained from each one. I stand in awe of the blessings that have flowed so abundantly into my life since the day I learned to trust God….
…. really trust God
…. and to praise Him
….and to thank Him
.with genuine spontaneous thanksgiving.
I walk into my kitchen each morning I am greeted with a view so awesome it almost knocks me down. I see majestic, beautiful, Pine Mountain rising in the distance, graced with a halo of clouds and a sprinkling of white snow. While I squeeze our morning orange juice, I watch ducks frolicking in the pond, veiled in a silvery mist rising with the morning sun. God has blessed me beyond my wildest imagination and I thank Him so much!!!!
Sisters, taste and see that the LORD is so good!!!
