Lesson Text:
Matthew 5:1-2;9
And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a
mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened
His mouth and taught them, saying: ...Blessed are the peacemakers, For they
shall be called sons of God.
Have you ever heard the wind blowing
really hard and there was thunder and lots of lightning? It was scary,
wasn't it? When the storm was over did you notice how quiet it was? You
could hear the birds singing again. The sun came out and maybe there was
even a rainbow. Everything was so peaceful and calm and it made you so
happy. When God is angry with people because they have been bad, His anger
is worse than the stormiest winds and the loudest thunder you have ever
heard. God is happy when we are good. The quietness and the calm we feel
when we are at peace with God is better than when the birds are singing and
the sun is shining. God is also very happy when we help others to be good. A
peacemaker is someone who encourages others to be good so that they will be
at peace with God. When we do good and teach others to do good we do not
have to be afraid of God being angry with us. Jesus said that peacemakers
shall be called sons of God. That is how special a peacemaker is! I hope you
will always be a peacemaker!

1. Darby __ saw her
sister take a piece of candy and put it in her pocket when they were at
Walmart. She told her sister to put it back because God was watching her and
he would not be happy if she took something that did not belong to her.
2. Lawson __ saw Aric
and Dewayne fighting. He told them that Jesus said for us to love one
another and that they should forgive one another and be friends. He told
them that God is angry with us if we hate others.
3. Jayde __ told Sky a
lie about Camilla. Sky was angry with Camilla because of the lie and she
pulled her hair.
4. Bo __ invited Carlo to go
camping with him Saturday night. Carlo had to decide whether he would go
camping or go to worship God on Sunday. Carlo's parents are not Christians
but he had been attending services with his Aunt. Bo went to worship
sometimes and he told Carlo he did not have to go to worship every Sunday.
5. Joelle __ went to
visit her friend, Saige. Saige had not finished her chores. Saige was in a
hurry to play with Joelle! She told Joelle that she was going to stuff the
laundry under her bed and no one would know that she had not folded it.
Joelle told Saige that God would know and He would not be happy with her.
Joelle helped her friend fold and put away the laundry so they could then
have time to play.
6. Gaige __ saw some little
puppies playing inside a fence. He called to his friend, Ryder, and told him
to come over to where he was. Gaige dared Ryder to throw rocks at the
puppies. The puppies squealed in pain and this made Brook come running
outside. She saw that her puppies were hurt and she began to cry.
7. Mr. Green was painting his
fence and needed to go into his house. Joe __ watched Ryan pour all of Mr.
Green's paint out while he was in the house, but Joe did not try to stop
Ryan. He just laughed and encouraged him to hurry before he got caught.
