Lesson Text: Matthew 4:23-25

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan .

Jesus was a helper. He went around helping others. He was kind and He healed those who were sick. He taught them about His Father. He told them about His kingdom. Soon all the people were talking about Jesus. They all wanted to see Him. They wanted to be healed by Him. They wanted to hear Him preach. Many, many people followed Him wherever He went.

* BE A HELPER __* _

Jesus wants you to be a helper. Name all the ways you were a helper this week. Ask your mother if you can do something new to help her this week. Think of something you can do to help someone who is not in your family this week. Perhaps you can help your Bible class teacher or a neighbor. When you visit your friend's house you can offer to help. When you go to visit your grandparents ask to help. Jesus is happy when we are helpers.

FIND THE THINGS A HELPER WILL DO

HELPERS WILL:

2. Put away toys without being told.

3. Will set the table.

4. Will throw dirty clothes on the floor.

5. Will walk on the floor with muddy shoes.

6. Ask others if they can help.

7. Will talk while the teacher is teaching.

8. Will make baby brother or sister cry.

9. Will play quietly while mother is cooking dinner.

10. Will play quietly while baby brother or sister is sleeping.
