Lesson 7

Fifth Day of Creation

 

Are you ready to study day FIVE of God's Good Creation?  Please turn in your Bibles to Genesis chapter one, verses 20, 21, 22 and 23.

 

Genesis 1: 20-23  "Then God said, "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens."  So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.  And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."  So the evening and the morning were the fifth day."

 

So, on day 5 of creation, God filled the seas with all sorts of creatures AND He made birds to fly in the sky.

THINK ABOUT THIS!!!

 

Read this verse again:

Genesis 1:22  "And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

 

This is the first time that something recieved a blessing from God.  We are blessed even more than the sea creatures and birds.  We are blessed with people who love us, a roof over our head and much more!

Experience God's wonderful creation!

 

This week, ask your mom or dad to go outside for a walk with you.  Thank them for taking time to be with you because this is one of your blessings!

 

Find a comfortable place to sit, preferably in a park or wooded area, and enjoy God's good creation!

 

See if you can be quiet for 5 whole minutes!  Your mom or dad can help you check a watch for the time.  Don't forget to ask nicely and say please to use a watch if you don't have one!

 

On the walk back to your house, talk with your parent about what you saw, felt, and heard during the 5 quiet minutes.

 

Take time each day to notice the world around you!  God has made the birds so well that they can hear the worms in the ground!  I once saw a robin listen carefully, then he stuck his beak in the ground and came up with a big worm (a yummy snack for him).  God made you to have talents and skills too!  This week, as you pray, ask God to help you learn what you can do best so that you can serve Him when you are older.
