Lesson 2
The
First Day of Creation Part 2
Not only did God create the
heavens and the earth on day one, He also made day and night.
Let’s
open up our Bibles to the book of Genesis, chapter one, verses
three, four and five.
Genesis
1: 3) Then God said, "Let there be light";
and there was light. 4) And God saw the light, that it was
good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5) God called
the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening
and the morning were the first day.

Okay,
time for a short, fun activity! Go and ask your mom and dad if
this is an okay time to do this activity. Remember your please
and thank you’s!
Go into a room that can get pretty dark
when the lights are off. Allow your child to flip on the lights
and announce "Let there be light!" Remind them that is
just what God said when He created the earth on day one. Invite
younger siblings to join in. It can be lots of fun, and at the
same time, they are learning a verse from the Bible. A very
important verse that shows how powerful God is! Before they get
too light switch happy, be sure to go over the verse from this
week as a reminder to why they are doing this in the first
place. Read through the verse, and when you get to "let
there be light", that can be your child’s cue to flip the
light on.
Your
memory verse this week is Genesis 1:5.
Genesis
1:5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.
