Noah's
Ark
Lesson
5
The Rain Stops
I hope you're ready
for Lesson 5! Open your Bibles to Genesis 8:1-5:
Genesis
8:1-5 "And God remembered Noah, and every
living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God
made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and
the rain from heaven was restrained; And the waters returned from off the
earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the
waters were abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the
seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. And the
waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on
the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen."

After the first 150
days, God remembered Noah and started getting the waters to go down.
Another 150 days and the ark actually rested on a mountain of Ararat.
They continued to abate (go down) until the tops of other mountains could
be seen.
The dictionary says assuaged means to
make a bad situation better.
Questions:
1. Did God forget about Noah?
2. Where did the ark land?
3. How long did it take the water to go down?
4. After the ark landed, what could be seen?
5. What did God make to pass over the earth?
Fun
project time!
Ask your mom or dad for some paper (plain paper or poster board),
scissors and tape. Use your imagination to make an ark that will
float. Take it into the bathroom or kitchen sink (don't forget to
get permission!), fill the sink with water and see if it floats.
When you're done, pull the plug and imagine the waters abating from the
earth.

Memory verse for the
week:
(Genesis
8:1a) And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the
cattle that was with him in the ark:
