10.  In verse 34 John tell his disciples and the Jews who are present "For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure."  What could John mean by saying God does not give the Spirit "by measure" to this one that He sent to speak His words?

"By measure" means:  In small, skimpy, incomplete amounts.

Jesus had the full measure, he had complete ability from the Spirit; he had all the gifts.  The apostles had a measure of the Spirit that no other men had.  They had the ability to lay their hands on people and they would receive gifts of the Holy Spirit which were miraculous abilities to do various things, such as speak in tongues, prophecy, interpret etc....  Those who received the gifts of the Holy Spirit from the Apostles did not have the same measure of the Spirit that the Apostles had.  They could not lay hands on others and pass the gifts to them.  Another aspect of the Apostles' measure of the Spirit was that they had received "all knowlege"  from God.  When Jesus was on earth and while He was training His apostles for their work he told them:

John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

This was specific instruction given only to the Apostles by Jesus.  No other men received "all truth".  What was the difference in the measure the Apostles had and the measure Christ had?  One difference was that Christ had the ability to read hearts and minds.  He knew what people were thinking. He was given all prophetic ability to know the future and to understand completely every aspect of what he knew.

11.  In verse 36 we read that "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." Will believing only save us?  No

Please prove your answer.  Other scriptures tell us that we must do more than just believe.  If we truly believe Christ then we will glady obey His teachings.
Mark 16:15-16 - Believe and be baptized
Acts 2:38 - Repent and be baptized
Matt. 10:32-33; Rom. 10:9-10 - One must confess Christ
