Jesus performed a MIRACLE using the

LUNCH of a little BOY. He took

FIVE loaves of BREAD and TWO fishes.

Jesus FED five THOUSAND men that day.

Another miracle that Jesus did that day was WALK on the  WATER.

 

WHY?

In Acts 2:22 the miracles of Jesus were called signs. Signs give a message. What message do you get when you see a traffic light that is green? What if it is red? You get the message that it tells you to go or stop. Miracles of Jesus were signs of something too. They were signs that showed that Jesus was the Son of God. Because He said He was God’s Son, and the signs that He did proved that He was telling the truth, we can be sure that He is the Son of God!

What was the purpose of miracles To prove that the teacher was telling the truth.

 

The Four Gospels

 

Be sure to begin your study by reading John 6:15-21 to answer the questions below.
1. What did the Jews want to force Jesus to be? A king
2. How did the disciples travel to the other side of the Sea of Galilee? By boat
3. How far had they rowed when they saw Jesus?
 Two or three miles

4. What did they see? Jesus walking on the water.
5. What happened when Jesus got into the boat? The boat was immediately at land.

Fill in the blanks

You will also need to refer to Matthew 14:22-33 and Mark 4:46-51.

1. Jesus went to the mountain by Himself to pray. (Matthew 14:22, Mark 6:46).
 
Jesus saw the disciples straining at the rowing for the wind   was against them  (Mark 6:48).

Now in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them,  walking on the sea.

The disciples were afraid because they thought they saw a ghost (Matthew 14:25).

But Jesus told them, "It is I, do not be afraid"  (John 6:50).

Walking On Water


Read Matthew 14:22-33 from the New King James for answers.
1. Jesus told Peter to do this (verse 29) Come.
2. Jesus stretched it out to Peter (verse 31) His hand.
5. Peter was afraid when he saw this (verse 30) The wind
6. He asked to walk on water too (verse 28) Peter
8. Peter got out of this (verse 29)  The boat.

9. Jesus got in the boat and wind did this (verse 32) Ceased.

10. Peter began to do this when he feared (verse 30) Sink.
 
11. Jesus said Peter had little of this (verse 31) Faith.

12. The disciples did this after the miracle (verse 33) Worshiped Jesus.

The Signs of Jesus

(Matthew 14:33)

Jesus didn’t hold up a literal sign. But the miracles are a sign that He truly is who He said He was. He is the SON of God. The disciples were amazed at what they had seen. They had seen the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand men, but their understanding was not complete. But this miracle impacted them. They worshiped Jesus saying, "Truly, You are the Son of God." As the Son of God, Jesus Christ has power over all things.

When we realize that Jesus is the Son of God, we too should worship Him!
