1.   What will be a witness against the rich as they heaped up treasure?

2.   In the parable of the Rich Man (Lk 12:16-41),

      a. How many times can you count words used to refer to the rich man himself? (e.g. I, mine, me, myself, himself, etc.)

      b. Of what significance is this over preoccupation with self? (cf Jas. 2:14-17; Lk.12:20,21)

4.   After telling the brethren of those who have lived evil lives (5:1-6) he then tells them to be patient and faithful in the midst of all of this evil (vss.7-11). In which verses and how does James teach that the Lord could come at any time?

 This passage was applicable to the period of miraculous gifts in the church and limited to it. The sick were saved [made physically whole] by the praying of and laying on of the hands of the elders. These elders, of necessity, would have been men who received the gifts of healing by the laying on of the hands of an apostle (Acts 8:17, 18). If one assumes that the passage as stated is applicable today, and the elders did their duty, then no one in the church would ever die! Yet the writer of Hebrews taught:

"It is______________unto men ___________ to _____ . . ." (Heb. 9:27)
