In chapter three we saw the bitter envying and arrogance of some who would become teachers. At the beginning of chapter four we noticed wars and fightings arising due to covetousness. God calls these worldly people adulterers and adulteresses because they were in love with the world rather than God. And now our gracious God gives warning.
