Relax

The majority of us, it seems to me, find it difficult at best to relax by the time our workday is finished.  We arise in the morning, fix breakfast for the family and worry about a husband who grabs two bites of a cereal bar and rushes out the door. We fret for his safety on the city streets any more. Our children aren't safe in school nowadays on their bus, from each other or perhaps even the teachers, it seems and, like Jesus' earthly parents, we near panic if our children go missing even for a few minutes (Lk. 2:48).  A variable rate mortgage on our home can be the source of considerable worry and add to that the food contaminations recently and on and on and on. We fear a lot!  Worry, continued over a long period of time, is detrimental to one's physical health. That's a fact.  What's even more tragic is that when we become overly concerned about our material lives, that often means our spiritual strength atrophies or withers away for lack of use. That's a deadly fact!! ~ Joan Miller  (OBC Ladies Daily Devotional Staff Writer IM’s www.stgcoc.com)   “If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” (Luke 12:25-26)
