How Many Plans of Salvation?

By Cj Clayton

There are so many lost out there!  A woman recently told me that when Christ died on the cross that he also nailed baptism to the cross. She also went on to inform me that she had been a Bible teacher and has studied the Bible for 30 years, since she was young. She claimed that when Christ spoke Mark 16:16 that He was not talking to us today. She told me that when I read the Bible I must realize whom is talking to whom and what year it is, and then I would know what context the meaning has. She is so lost! As I tried to explain to her that you MUST be baptized, she became very belligerent.

Hear my prayer O God, give ear to the words of my mouth, for strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul, they have not set God before them.       (Psalms 54: 2-3)

It is a sad state of affairs when people refuse to acknowledge Christ's doctrine. They refuse to believe that Jesus means what he says. Oh, they acknowledge that Christ died for their sins on the cross, but they refuse to believe that Jesus knows anything about Salvation or what one must do to obtain it.

None of them by any means can redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him, for the redemption of their soul is precious and it ceaseth forever.  (Psalms 49: 7-8)

Jesus is the one who died for our sins. Surely He would know how we can obtain Salvation!  Christ gave us very simple instructions on how to be Saved.  He gave us step by step written instructions. The entire book of Acts is full of examples. Here is His list of instructions in HIS OWN WORDS on how to be Saved.

The only plan of Salvation according to Jesus

  •  ·        Hear the Gospel (John 6:45)

  •  ·        Believe the Gospel (John 3:18)

  •  ·        Repent  (Luke 13:3)

  •  ·        Confess (Matt 10:32)

  •  ·        Be Baptized (Mark 16:16)

There is nothing more clear or concise than Jesus OWN WORDS on how to obtain Salvation. However many are still very confused and lost.  Many believe that all you have to do is say the "sinners prayer" (ask Jesus to come into your heart) and you will be saved. As you read these five steps, nowhere in any of them does Jesus mention a sinner’s prayer. No where does it say for us to ask Him to come to us.  In fact Jesus made it very clear that we must go to Him.

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9)

And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. (Rev 22:17)

According to the Father and the Son we must be the ones to come.  We cannot demand that Jesus come to us! There is NO sinners prayer anywhere in the entire Bible! This is man made false doctrine!!!!  There is not more than ONE plan of Salvation.

There is also NO remission of sins without reaching Jesus blood! Where is Jesus blood? It is in the water, the water of Baptism. If you study Romans chapter 6 it will give great detail and insight concerning baptism and why you must be baptized.

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Gal 3:27)

You cannot "put on Christ" unless you are baptized. Kneeling on your knees, asking Jesus to come into your heart and to be your personal Savior will never work for salvation. (God is not the author of confusion!)

So please, everyone, spread the Gospel of truth

To the lost in this new year of 2005!

Make a valid effort to reach any and all that you can,

So that we can end Satan’s reign of false doctrine

 Which he spreads!

BIO on Cj. (Cynthia Ann Johnson Clayton) Aka: Queen Cj.

At Present: I am married to my High school Sweetheart Fred Clayton and we have a son Keith 16yrs old. We have been married (Forever) LOL We live in St. Petersburg Florida, I am 41yrs old and Fred is 44

My Past:

I was born in Toronto Canada and raised in Ontario Canada, My mother was Catholic and so was my Dad, I moved to sunny Florida when I was 8yrs old and have been here ever since, when I was 12yrs old I began going to Liberty Baptist Church and received my first Bible, I eventually stopped going to that Church after we moved and didn't attend any Church until my late 30's I then met George and he led me and my husband Fred to his Church, George ran a Church from his house, he told us to ask Jesus to come into our hearts and be our personal savior and from that time on we were saved! (according to George) not according to Jesus, we attended frequent Bible studies at the Church of George and went there for years, then George moved and we lost touch, So we were back to not attending any Church, until the Jehovah's Witness's knocked on our door one day, we then went to the Kingdom Hall and did weekly Bible Studys, One day during one of these studys I asked about Baptism, as I had been reading on my own the book of Acts and realized that I infact had never been baptized so that meant to me that I was not saved,
(My first clue that George had told us wrong) the JW lady giving the Bible study said that we could not be Baptized because we had to study the word of God more so that we could be approved unto God, she further explained that in order for the Kingdom Hall to baptize us we had to pass a 80 Question test and if we passed the test then our Membership had to be voted on (We had to be voted in) before Baptism, So I told her to show me this test in the Bible and the voting procedure in the Bible, she explained that I'm not ready for such things to be shown yet as I am a New Convert.

So that night we decided not to have anything more to do with the Jehovah Witness's as we quickly discovered there is NO required test prior to Baptism and NO studying involved, we read from the Bible that all you had to do was Believe and you could be baptized, So I got out the phone book searching for a Church (any) Church that would Baptize us as now we were in a big hurry to be baptized! but the phone book had soooooooo many Churches listed I had no clue which one to call, So I thought ummm I wonder which Church God wants us to go to???

That night I prayed harder than I had EVER prayed and asked God to send me someone from the Church he wanted us to go to. Well the very next day Bill moved in downstairs from us, and he drove this red and white Church van, which said on the side in big letters Pinecrest park Church of Christ So as I'm watching out the window from upstairs something (this urgent feeling) told me to go down and talk to this man right now! it was the type of feeling like your house is on fire and you better vacate right now! like that type of urgency feeling, I had never had a feeling like that before and never had one like that since, so I approached him and began to explain that I wanted to get baptized but I didn't know what Church would baptize me and hubby he then took out a Bible and pointed to Romans 16:16 and said to me here read this, this is the only Church that Salvation is in, its the only Church in the Bible! he then pointed across the street to water (We lived on the beach) and he said I will baptize you right now in that water! I was in shock! I knew right then and there that God had answered my prayer! I said quick as a flash! YES I'm more than ready!

So we were about to go but then my hubby came home and I told Bill I would be right back in a minute, I then breathlessly told hubby all that had happened and showed hubby in the Bible Romans 16:16 he said to me where is this man? I said c'mon and let me introduce you, so right away he went with me to meet Bill, Bill decided to bring us to the Church instead and Baptize us in the Baptismal pool once there we met the Minister, Lenwood Sapp Sr. and we were showed scripture about Baptism and what this means, they wanted us to be very clear about what we were about to do, NOTE: My son was also Baptized but not the same day as he was still at school the day me and hubby were Baptized. So we were (Finally Truly Saved) on March 3rd 2000 and we have been faithful members ever since!

In 2002 I became the Church Secretary after surprising our Minister with our Church website that I had made, since they didn't have one. Here's the link to the Website: www.freewebs.com/churchofchrist

And since making the website our Minister is constantly having me add more things to the website so its a joint effort on both our parts keeping the website going, Also hubby and me clean the Church every Tuesday and Saturday, Hubby is also the Church handyman, he recently did all the Church electrical rewiring and does any and all repairs the Church needs. Our Church doesn't pay us for doing any of these things and we refuse money for doing them because we know God will bless us for doing these good works.

We also both attend Bible Studies the Church offers on Mon., Tues., and Weds. nights and also we attend Soul Winning Class on Saturday mornings.

And last but not least, in my spare time I try to give people Bible Studies so that all will become saved and know the truth of the Gospel so that no one has to go through all the torment that I went through thinking for years I was saved all along when I really wasn't!

So that's about it! May the Lord Bless all of you! and I hope you enjoyed reading my Bio.

Many thanks From Cj.
