Job had hope when his world fell apart around him …
"Though He slay me, I will hope in Him …." Job 13:15.
The Gentiles had hope when they were taught that they too could be God's chosen people …
Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. "But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. (Acts 10:34-35)
The woman who had a hemorrhage, had hope as she struggled through the crowd, trying to reach Jesus …
Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well." (Mark 5:25-28)
What did they all have?
They had hope.
What is hope? Hope is believing God's word when what you see with your eyes makes it look impossible.
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)
