His Truth Equals Our Protection

 The above lyrics of a song ran through my mind one morning as I sat listening to a storm rage outside the walls of my home.  The storm was a particularly bad one with loud claps of thunder and lightening that lit up the sky. As I listened to the wind toss objects around outside, I found myself pausing and thanking God for the safety of my home.  It wasn’t long however, before my thoughts centered on comparing the safety of my home to the safety that comes from obeying God's word. 

 Like the storm raining down on my home in the wee hours of that early morning, Satan, too, rains temptations on our lives.  He knows just what will tempt each and every one of us.  He doesn't hesitate to pull out ALL the stops when attacking. 

 Just as my home created a safe refuge from the storm raging outside that morning, our Father in Heaven has created a safe refuge for us when Satan sends temptations our way.   Where do we find this safe refuge ... we find it through the obedience of God's word!
