[bio at end]Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. (NKJ) (Psalm 103:1-5)
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with loving-kindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle. (NASB) (Psalm 103:1-5)

Blessings and Happiness go Hand in Hand
When you think back on all the joys you have encountered in this life, what comes to mind? Have you ever stopped and considered what the true source of your happiness is? Do you know it has never occurred to some people that without God there would be no happiness?
When I look back over the span of my life I don’t see how I could have every doubted that God and only God is the true source of my joy. Of course, He has blessed me with a loving family, a cozy home, and caring husband. All of whom is very close to my heart but, think for a moment, if everything was taken away in the blink of an eye; what would be left?
When you have cried and grieved until you think all sanity has left, suddenly you see a light shining from afar. You begin to see the source of that light when one person says 5 special words. These five special words slowly seep through the fog of your mind:
I
Am
Praying
For
You
The next time you fall on hard times and begin to think, “What will I do now?” “All is lost!” think on David’s words and you will know the blessings still flow.
Thus my heart was grieved, And I was vexed in my mind. I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.
Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:21-26)

It
was 13 years later when a long time friend of mines who had already became a
Christian started asking me to go to church with her. Needless to say
I made up all kinds of reasons not to go, and promised I would really soon.
At this time in my life I was doing a lot of thing that I am not proud of.
By I did things because I did not want to think about my life and the
mistakes I had made. Saturday afternoon as always, Margaret called and
asked me to come to church with her and I accepted. Bro.
Wendell Gray was speaking on Street Life and how God wants His
children to turn to from it. I did not know at the time what God plans
for me were, but I did know I wanted to be a part of this group of people.
I was baptized that same day after 12 years of not being in a church.
That was the best decision had ever made.
I have been a member of the Church of
Christ September 16, 1989, and
I don’t know how I made it so long without Him. God has
truly blessed me over the years. I have a God fearing husband (Allen)
to whom I am very much in love with. My 3 children, Dwayne, Dewanda and
DeSandra are all grown out on there own and I have 10 grandchildren that I
love with all of my heart.
I know if God can turn my life around,
basically over night, He can do the same for you. Although I am still
striving to do what is right in God's eyes, I am very happy with my life as
a child of God. (A Christian) In our home God is first and in my
personal life I am satisfied because when the time comes I am going home to
Glory with Christ. I am at Peace because I know that God is the true
source of my happiness.
