WELCOME
The virtuous woman watches over the ways of her household. Again, as we turn to the Hebrew text, we find that the word "way" means "a walking". As keepers of our home, we must guard where our children walk.
We must know the friends they choose, the movies they watch, the books they read, and the music they listen to if we are going to help them walk on the lighted path of Jesus Christ. We cannot know them if we are not spending time with them. I am reading a wonderful book, Great Moms, Raising Great Kids. In this book, she states that the average child engages in approximately 11 minutes of conversation with his/her parents a day!
We cannot guard our homes with those statistics! One of my favorite verses to use in guiding my children’s choices is:
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:8)
We must help guide our children to walk according to God’s word.
Women, are we to be weak and helpless? On the contrary! The entire passage of Proverbs 31 describes a woman full of strength and power!
She girds herself with strength and strengthens her arms (Proverbs 31:17).
We must rely on God’s strength as we rise to guard our homes against the evils without.
