God Is Our Refuge And Strength
By
Alma Norman
"God
is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not
we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into
the midst of the seas; though the waters therefore roar and be troubled, though
the mountains shake with the swelling thereof." (Ps. 46:1-3)
We as faithful Christians can be at peace and rest in His assurances. Throughout
all eternity, those who have remained loyal and true to his teachings will reap
their glorious reward. God has created a beautiful place called Heaven for his
saints. Even in our weakest or most trying moments, God is always there to help
us. God is the anchor of our souls. He is one that is unmovable.
"That
by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might
have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope
set before us. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and
steadfast."
(Heb. 6: 18-19)
It's our duty to learn how to trust and rely on Him. God loves us so much. When
we are faced with temptations, He has provided a way of escape. If we'll allow
Him to abide in us, we'll be able to recognize this way of resistance to Satan.
Satan is very sly and he
knows us all so well. His temptations were designed precisely for us. He will
tempt each one of us differently knowing where we're the weakest. This is why it
is so important that we strive for the trusting faith that God desires for us to
have.
"Therefore
hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but, God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will temptation
also make a way to escape that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Cor. 10:13)
