God Is In
Control
By Regaina Thompson
But the LORD shall
endure forever, He has prepared His throne for judgment. He shall
judge the world in righteousness, And He shall administer judgment for the
peoples in uprightness. The LORD also will be a refuge for the
oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name
will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek
You. (Ps.9:7-10)
In these verses, David
states that God is ultimately in control. He will judge this world and he
will judge rightly. He is the one we turn to in trouble and the one we can
always trust. He has promised never to forsake us if we seek Him.
David
makes this point again in Ps. 37:23-25
"The steps of a
good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though
he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with
His hand. I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the
righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread."
He
always takes care of His people. This promise is repeated In Heb 13:5-6:
"I will never leave thee nor forsake thee."
Whatever struggles we
may be dealing with at this moment are very small in camparison to our
reward.
Let us
look forward to our eternal home,
trust
in the Lord,
and
we can bear all things through Him.
Therefore we do not lose
heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is
being renewed day by day.(II Cor 4:16-18)
I can
do all things through Christ who strengthens me.( Phil 4:13.)
