And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you. (Matthew 28:7)
Mary and Mary Magdalene were instructed to go quickly and tell the disciples that Jesus was indeed ALIVE! Have you ever wondered what the urgency was? Did His followers need to be reassured that Jesus had indeed risen from the dead? In the latter part of verse 7, the angel of the Lord told them that Jesus was going to get to Galilee before they would arrive so they knew they would see Jesus again!
So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. (Matt. 28:8)
The scripture tells us that, although they were afraid, they were full of joy, and they ran (not walked) to spread the word. How long has it been since you ran to tell someone about Jesus? God expects boldness and courage from us!
