The Earth Is The LORD'S

By Billie Duty

Psalm 24 makes me think of the song that we sing while worshipping our Savior...

The Prince of Glory

by V.E. Howard

The King of all Kings who did suffer for sin,

His blood freely gave for all men;

 The kingdom of heaven with riches untold,

Great victory for my soul.

Our Father in heaven His will to obey,

We’ll stand in the judgment someday;

The Prince of all glory, His palace is mine,

The throne of God’s grace divine.

The Prince of all glory will welcome me home,

Where joy like the world is unknown;

No tears and no sorrows in heaven above,

 Our hope is redeeming love.

(Chorus) The Prince of all glory in majesty reigns,

 To welcome all saints, praise His name.

 A mansion in heaven, what joy will be,

 thru - out all eternity.

In the very first verse as well as other scriptures, we see that nothing here is really ours.  Everything belongs to Him:

"The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein." (Psalm 24:1)

"Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the LORD yor God, also the earth withall that is in it." (Deut. 10:14)

And he said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away, Blessed by the name of the LORD." (Job 1:21)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (James 1:17)

We see the question asked:

Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? (Psalm 24:3)

We find the answer within the scriptures.  Those who "keep His commandments"!

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)

"If you love Me, keep My commandments. (John 14:15)
