COMFORT AND WARMTH

By Beverly Rainwater

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. (Psalm 46:1-3)

Have we thanked God lately for the comfort He gives?

Have we realized the greatness of His blanket of comfort?

Our hearts are…

 …Made lighter just by His words when we are frightened;

 …Comforted when we are sad and alone;

 …Encouraged when we are down to the depths of despair.

Our prayer to Him should be to thank Him for all His wonderful help! We should open our minds and our hearts to it!  Oh, that we would let it lift us up and fly us over the troubles of this life on wings of eagles!

But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.  (Isaiah 40:31)

We are comforted when we are cold when we wrap in a warm blanket. We always have the Words of Jesus to wrap around us, just like a warm blanket to give us…

  …Comfort,

                 …Encouragement,

                                …And strength,

                                                     …In all walks of our life.

It is we who forget, He never does!
