CARAMEL APPLE PIE

    ~a very simple way to make an elegant and delicious pie, no need for ice cream either!
1 best quality apple pie from freezer section
1/4 c butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c toasted pecans
2 TB heavy cream
1/4 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Bake apple pie according to directions on box.  During last 15 minutes, prepare the topping. 
Melt butter,  Stir in sugar and cream.  Boil and stir constantly for 1 minute.  Remove and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla.   Add pecans.  Pour over pie and finish the last 3-5 minutes of baking time.  Then turn on broiler to make it really bubbly.  Watch this as it may drip over sides very easily.
